Qualifications

• Support duties include instructional, clerical, supervisory and behavior management tasks.
• Aides/assistants implement programming as directed by classroom teachers, administrators, or the Case Conference Committee.
• Aides follow the bylaws and policies of Special Education, their assigned school, and the school corporation.

Responsibilities

• Playground, lunchroom, rest periods, loading and unloading buses, hall duty, and other supervisory duties.
• Assist students with basic hygiene activities and routines.
• Implement Behavior Intervention Programs as directed by the teacher.
• Support students with emotional or autistic disabilities requiring patience and understanding.
• Other tasks as directed by the teacher or administrator.
• Rides/monitors buses when needed and may be paid for extra hours.
• Some positions may require one-to-one services for students with autistic/emotional behaviors.
