Job summary

The Help Group in Sherman Oaks seeks a dedicated administrator to lead Social Development oversight for K–8 classrooms. You will supervise Social Development teachers and teaching assistants, collaborate with principals and families, and ensure smooth program operations.

The role requires a Mild to Moderate or Support Needs Special Education Credential, at least 5 years in Special Education (Autism/ED), and leadership experience. Join a collaborative team focused on student growth.

Qualifications

  • Mild to Moderate or Support Needs Special Education Credential required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of teaching Special Education – Autism and ED.
  • Background in Positive Behavior Support.
  • One year in a supervisory position (Mentor Teacher or Assistant Principal).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coach Social Development teachers and teaching assistants through classroom observations, weekly supervision meetings, and performance evaluations.
  • Collaborate with principals, behavioral staff, district personnel, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success and ensure program effectiveness.
  • Coordinate and attend IEP meetings, serve as a liaison between families and school districts, and support student admissions and intake processes.
  • Ensure compliance with district policies, staffing coverage requirements, documentation standards, and operational reporting systems.
  • Train, orient, and evaluate instructional staff while fostering professional growth and adherence to best practices.
  • Lead program initiatives, including parent support groups and implementation of evidence-based strategies for students with social development needs.
