Job summary

American Preparatory Academy in Utah is seeking an Assistant Special Education Teacher to work under the supervision of Directors, providing supervision and one-on-one instruction for students with mild disabilities.

You will also supervise students during lunch, maintain open communication with Directors, and offer positive guidance and support. There may be opportunities to teach small groups and grow within the special education department.

Qualifications

• Experience in Special Education is desired but not required.
• Earned an Associates Degree OR 48 college credits OR complete a basic academic skills (parapro) exam within the first week of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and instruction to students with special needs.
• Supervise students with special needs during lunch.
• Provide consistent communication to the Directors regarding students.
• Provide guidance and support to students in a positive manner.
• May teach small groups of students.
