Job summary

Discovery Ranch South is hiring a Special Education Teacher to work with middle and high school students with mild to moderate disabilities in Cedar City, Utah. You will adapt curriculum and collaborate with parents, districts, and staff to support each student's learning goals.

The position offers both part-time and full-time flexibility, with salary guidelines of $24-$28 per hour DOE. A Utah SPED certificate is required, and a BSc is expected; MSc is a plus.

• Valid Utah state special education certificate.
• BSc in Special Education; MSc is a plus.
• Experience working with children with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Adapt learning materials to students' needs.
• Keep track of and reflect on students' progress.

We are looking for a Special Education Teacher to join our team of educators. You will be responsible for working with middle & high school students with mild or moderate disabilities. You will help students understand existing curriculum on basic subjects (e.g. math, writing) to meet each student?s learning requirements tailored to their specific needs. You will also discuss with parents, school districts and support staff about important matters that might impede students? progress. Ultimately, you will help and inspire children to achieve important learning milestones.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Good knowledge of current special education topics and methodologies
• Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher or relevant role
• Experience working with children with a wide range of disabilities
• A patient, resourceful, and resilient personality
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Valid Utah state special education certificate
• BSc in Special Education; MSc is a plus
