Job summary

McLees Elementary School in Anderson, SC seeks a dedicated Special Education Teaching Assistant for a part-time, non-exempt role in a self-contained classroom. You will support students with disabilities, reinforce instruction, and help maintain a safe, positive learning environment.

Qualifications include an Associate’s Degree (preferred), experience with autism and other disabilities, and CPR/First Aid certification. The position reports to the Principal within Anderson School District 5.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred.
• Experience working with students with autism and other disabilities.
• CPR/First Aid certification required (or obtained).

Responsibilities

• Follow a schedule to support the assigned individual student.
• Present instructional materials for students identified with mild to moderate disabilities and/or autism.
• Assist classroom teacher with literacy and reading programs and assessments.
• Supervise and assist students in various school settings (bathroom, hallways, lunchroom, playground).
• Support daily living skills and behavior plans for safe learning.
