Job summary

Mt Diablo High is seeking a dedicated Special Education Assistant II to provide instructional support in a diverse classroom. You will work under supervision to assist students with special needs, facilitate instructional tasks, and help maintain records.

The role requires flexibility for travel between locations and a willingness to support social and mobility skills. Applicants should have a high school diploma and college coursework or an AA, CBEST option, and must pass required screenings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with either 48 college units or an AA degree, or CBEST/proficiency option accepted by HR.
• Ability to work under supervision with students with diverse needs.
• Strong communication and recordkeeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with special needs in learning or using instructional equipment or media.
• Support students with special needs in accessing tests and instructional tasks.
• Help foster positive social interactions and supervise students during meals and activities.
• Maintain student records and complete clerical tasks related to programs.
• May assist with transportation between locations and with mobility needs.
