Job summary

Concord High in Concord, California is seeking a Special Education Assistant II/IEP to support students with diverse needs in pre K–12 and adult settings under site supervision.

You will work as part of the instructional team, assist with instructional tasks, help with tests and equipment, supervise meals and activities, maintain records, and meet district safety and training requirements. Starting date is immediate; position is part-time, 6 hours daily.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma and either 48 college units or an AA degree, or passing CBEST.
• Proficiency exam may be required as determined by HR and must be completed before deadline.
• Certification in first aid and CPR may be required per district policy.

Responsibilities

• Communicate regularly with instructional team about student performance.
• Assist assigned student with instructional tasks and adapt to individual needs.
• Help students use instructional media and specialized equipment.
• Assist with administering tests and handling instructional materials.
• Support social development through positive reinforcement and activities.
• Escort students to buses and between classrooms and events.
• Supervise students during snack, lunch, and outdoor activities.
