Job summary

North Allegheny School District seeks a Special Education Assistant Long-Term Substitute at McKnight Elementary School to support identified students in regular and special education settings. The role runs seven hours per day during the school year, with pay per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

For 2026-2027 the rate is $20.70/hour, with a comprehensive benefits package available. Minimum requirements include 48 post-secondary credits or an Associate degree or successful ParaPro assessment,

Qualifications

• Minimum 48 post-secondary credits, an Associate's degree, or ParaPro assessment.
• Current clearances: Child Abuse History Clearance, PA Criminal Record Check, Mandated Reporter training.
• Pre-employment physical and TB test required.

Responsibilities

• Provide support services for identified students in regular and/or special education environments.
• Collaborate with Inclusion Facilitators, Special Education Teachers and Regular Education Teachers to support students’ academic, emotional, social, behavioral and physical needs.
