The Special Education Assistant - Health Aide assists the classroom teacher in providing support to students in the general education or special education classrooms. The Health Aide works directly with students who have a variety of needs, including physical, emotional and learning, providing personalized assistance. Some of the responsibilities include helping with toileting, diabetic and other personal care needs when necessary, supporting students from special education classrooms,providing one-on-one instruction, and managing behaviors.
Monday-Friday, 8:30am to 3:30 pm, 6.5 hours per day, 32.5 hours weekly, school year schedule of August to June annually.
Life Insurance, Sick Time Off, Personal Time Off, 6 School Closure Days, Retirement, and Holidays per the bargaining unit agreement.
$15.81 hourly. Annual raises for the first five years, then every 5 years per the bargaining agreement.
