Job summary

Rock Hill School District is seeking a paraprofessional to support elementary students. A high school diploma is required; college background is preferred, with at least 60 semester hours, or an associate degree.

Candidates must pass the ParaPro Assessment (ETS) with a passing score, demonstrate outstanding verbal and written communication, and be cooperative with supervising teachers. SLED background check is required; position starts immediately and runs 185 days at 7.5 hours per day.

Job description

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma required, college background preferred

At least two years of study (60 semester hours) at an accredited institution of higher education; or An associate's degree (or higher); or An approved state or local academic assessment that measures the paraprofessional's knowledge of and ability to assist in instruction at the appropriate level. Paraprofessionals may meet the assessment requirement by passing the ParaPro Assessment(ETS.org). The minimum passing score on this test is 456. One of the three options listed is required within six months of employment.

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

Skill in interpersonal relations with pupils, parents, teachers, staff and the general public

Ability to fulfill the dexterity and physical requirements of the work, and effectively attend to special needs of exceptional children

Salary Range: Support 3

Length of Contract: 185 days/7.5 hours per day

Starting Date: Immediately Upon Selection
