Job summary

Eastwood Elementary School in Hillsboro, Oregon is seeking a Special Education Assistant (4 Hours) and Educational Assistant (2 Hours) on a 10-month calendar. The positions support students under licensed staff with emphasis on IEPs and safety.

Mandatory qualifications include a high school diploma, strong English communication, bilingual English/Spanish ability, and two years of post-secondary education or an equivalent assessment. Internal candidates are welcome.

Qualifications

High school diploma or its equivalent.
Proficient oral and written communication skills in English.
Proficient in the use of computer and Internet based applications, including but not limited to email and systems applications.
Hold a valid certificate in a District approved student intervention system or be able to obtain in 60 days.
Experience working with children.
“Highly Qualified” Status Required (two years of post-secondary education or an associates (or higher) degree; or District approved academic assessment)
Bilingual English/Spanish Required (bilingual is defined as fluency in reading, writing and speaking in two languages as determined by District screening tool)
