Job summary

Rochester Public Schools in Minnesota seeks a full-time 1.0 FTE Special Education - ASD Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Two positions are available.

The role supports students with autism spectrum disorders and collaborates with school teams to implement individualized instruction. Applicants must hold or be eligible for Minnesota PELSB licensure in the appropriate area (K-12, ASD, or Academic Behavior Strategist).

Qualifications

• Current Minnesota PELSB license in appropriate area preferred and/or required: Grade K-12; Autism Spectrum Disorders; or Academic Behavior Strategist.

Responsibilities

• Support learners with autism spectrum disorders through IEP goals and individualized instruction.
• Collaborate with general and special education staff to implement inclusive, evidence-based practices.
• Provide ongoing assessment data and support student progress toward academic and behavioral goals.

SALARY

Prorated based upon hire date. Based on level of education and full years of licensed teaching experience. 2025-2027 REA Contract containing salary schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS

Current Minnesota PELSB license in appropriate area preferred and/or required: Grade K-12; Autism Spectrum Disorders; or Academic Behavior Strategist.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior successful experience in urban, multicultural education desirable.
• Demonstrates continued professional development through coursework, research, peer collaboration, and/or job-embedded staff development.
• Working knowledge of the subject matter, classroom management techniques, current researched best practices and strategies, as well as students' learning styles and needs, both academic and affective.
