Job summary

Conroe Independent School District is seeking a Special Education Aide/Resource/Inclusion Anticipated at Gordon-Reed Elementary. You will support students with disabilities inside and outside the classroom, assist with IEP implementation, self-help, behavior management, and instructional programs under the supervision of a certified teacher.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Texas educational aide certificate within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Help meet the individual needs of students, including transferring them to and from wheelchairs, lifting and positioning them, and signing or interpreting instructions for them, if needed.
• Help manage the behavior of assigned students by following BIP.
• Assume responsibility for learning and adapting to each student’s special medical, physical, communicative, and emotional needs.
• Work with assigned students or small groups to develop motor skills and conduct instructional exercises assigned by teacher.
• Collect necessary paperwork/data per teacher direction.
• Assist assigned students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
• Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of assigned students.
• Participate in professional development programs, faculty meetings, and special events as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Certification:
