Job summary

Frisco ISD is seeking a Special Education Aide to support a Life Skills Class (LSC) and students with disabilities in a dedicated classroom. You will help prepare instructional materials, supervise students, and support IEP-driven activities.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, SBEC certification, and the ability to assist with physical needs. Willingness to lift and assist as needed is expected. The position aligns with the district’s 186 work-day calendar.

Qualifications

• Education/Certification: High School diploma or GED; Associate degree or two years of higher education preferred.
• Must complete SBEC certification process to obtain an Educational Aide Certification.

Responsibilities

• Help the teacher prepare instructional materials.
• Help the teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide assistance to substitute teachers.
• Assist students with physical disabilities (may require lifting).
• Help manage behavior of students.
• Support students’ instructional needs in accordance with IEPs.
• Assist students with personal care as appropriate.
• Assume responsibility for learning and adapting to each student’s special needs.
• Work with individual students or small groups.
• Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Participate in staff development programs as assigned.
