Waxahachie ISD seeks an Aide for SLE, Special Populations at Marvin Elementary to support a special education classroom. Duties include direct instruction under teacher supervision, behavior management, and small-group support.

Required: high school diploma or GED, 48 college hours or an associate’s degree, and Paraprofessional Aide Certification (can be earned after hire). The role is non-exempt and paid on the paraprofessional scale.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Have met formal academic assessment, associate’s degree, two years of study or 48 hours at an institution of higher learning.
• Paraprofessional Aide Certification required (can be obtained once employed)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction of students under direct supervision of teacher.
• Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher, work with individual students or small groups.
• Assist in classroom management.
• Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Work with individual students or small groups to develop motor skills and conduct instructional exercises assigned by teacher.
