Job summary

Carrizo Springs CISD Carrizo Springs Junior High in Texas is seeking a Special Education Aide to support students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom.

Under the supervision of a certified teacher and principal, you will assist with instructional programs, behavior management, and daily classroom operations while upholding confidentiality.

Minimum 48 college hours are required; a Texas educational aide certificate is preferred with an immediate starting date.

Qualifications

• Education/Certification: Minimum of 48 college hours; Preferred Associate’s degree, two years of study at an institution of higher learning, or have met formal academic assessment as required by ESSA
• Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to work with children with disabilities; Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; Ability to communicate effectively; Knowledge of general office equipment
• Experience: Some experience working with children

Responsibilities

• Instructional Support: Help teacher prepare instructional materials and classroom displays; Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom; Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment; Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports; Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers
