Job summary

Woodlawn Learning Center in Hopewell, Virginia seeks a Special Education Teacher Assistant to support classroom teachers in pre-K Early Childhood Special Education settings. Starting immediately, you will provide instructional support, manage learning centers, and assist with personal care needs of students, under supervision.

Qualifications

• Must hold an Associate's Degree or have passed the Paraprofessional Exam.
• Ability to assist in implementing behavioral intervention programs for children with emotional/behavioral disorders.
• Maintain student disability records confidentially and with care.

Responsibilities

• Assists classroom teachers in instructional programs and activities.
• Distributes and collects materials and sets up learning centers.
• Works with students in small groups or one-on-one to support learning.
• Monitors student behavior and supports classroom management.
• Assists with individual education plans and progress monitoring.
• Performs clerical tasks and helps prepare instructional materials.
