Qualifications

• Must have an Associate's Degree or have passed the Paraprofessional Exam.
• Ability to assist in implementing behavioral intervention programs for children with emotional/behavioral disorders.
• Maintain student disability records in a highly confidential manner.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher in instructional programs and activities.
• Distribute materials and set up learning centers and AV equipment.
• Work with students individually or in small groups to support math, reading, or other subjects.
• Monitor groups during instruction and activities.
• Assist in developing individualized programs and monitoring student progress.
• Support computer-assisted instruction and basic computer maintenance tasks.
• Ensure safety during arrival, dismissal, lunch, and breaks.
• Assist with classroom management and crisis intervention.
• Supervise students in halls, cafeteria, and during transit between classes.
• Record daily schedules and behavior plans to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Assist with inventory and distribution of instructional materials.
