Job summary

Lubbock Independent School District seeks a Special Education Educational Aide to assist in a special education setting, supporting students with disabilities and helping implement classroom programs under supervision of a certified teacher and principal.

Responsibilities include preparing instructional materials, maintaining an orderly classroom, supervising students, and assisting with administrative records. Non-exempt wage status; 10- or 12-month contracts may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid TEA Paraprofessional Educational Aide Certificate is required.
• Some experience working with children is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help teacher prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Assist students with physical disabilities including transfers and personal care.
• Assist students with toileting and personal hygiene, feeding, mobility, positioning.
