Job summary

Massillon City Schools is seeking a Special Education Aide for the MD / Cross Category Classroom at Massillon West Elementary School. This role supports students with disabilities, assists the classroom teacher with instruction, supervision, and daily routines to create a positive learning environment. The position is full-time with a Monday–Friday schedule and an hourly rate of $15.94. Immediate start; apply by Sep 28, 2026.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must hold a valid Ohio Teacher’s aide Certificate.
• ESEA qualified designation or two years of higher education; an associate’s degree or higher.
• Previous experience with handicapped students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take students off bus in the morning and bring them to the classroom.
• Assist students to classes and accompany to activities.
• Assist students to the restroom and supervise during activities.
• Keep students on task and in their seats during instruction and reinforce positive behavior.
• Maintain confidentiality of personal information.
