• At least 1 year of experience directly related to duties and responsibilities.
• Additional education and certifications may be required depending on funding and program regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to the teacher to ensure a safe and stimulating educational environment.
• Supervises students for safety and to enhance the learning environment.
• Assists the teacher in planning and preparation for daily activities; aids instructional efforts of the teacher.
• Assists the teacher in preparing lesson outlines, plans, and curricula in assigned areas.
• Plans, prepares, and develops teaching aids for classroom use, including activity sheets and handouts.
• Present subject matter to learners under teacher guidance using various methods.
• Leads classroom activities and may converse with parents on progress when the teacher is absent.
• Assists children or adults individually or in groups with assignments to reinforce learning.
• Maintain daily records, track progress and intervene to help students progress.
• May lead and train interns/volunteers and participate in recruiting volunteers.
