Qualifications

• Must have at least 60 semester credit hours or an Associate Degree or have passed the ParaPro Praxis Exam (457 or above).
• Demonstrates competence for assigned responsibilities and works well with others.
• Typing ability is preferred and attention to confidentiality is essential, with a strong commitment to desegregated education.

Responsibilities

• Reinforces instructional activities with students as prescribed.
• Assists in the preparation of lesson plans and instructional materials.
• Assumes responsibility for being prepared to perform instructional duties as prescribed.
• Assists with the physical needs of the student (feeding, toileting, dressing).
• Assists in transporting students to and from learning sites.
• Lears the curriculum content of the classes in which they assist.
• Implements behavior management techniques and assists in data collection.
• Assists the teacher with classroom maintenance and related duties.
• Participates in staff meetings and completes daily work schedules.
