Job summary

Pitt County Schools seeks an Exceptional Childrens Teacher Assistant/Bus Driver for a 10-month school-year role. You will support the teacher with IEP goals, prepare learning environments, and assist students with personal care and safety.

CDL eligibility is required and bus driving duties may be assigned by the administration. Qualifications include an Associate's degree or 64 college hours and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 64 semester hours of higher education.
• Must be eligible for a school bus driver's license (CDL).
• Computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with each child's IEP goals and objectives.
• Plan and prepare the learning environment, centers, and materials.
• Assist students with personal care needs and medical procedures as trained.
• Conduct group learning exercises and supervise students for safety.
• Develop instructional materials and group lessons with teacher input.
• Assist with discipline procedures and enforce consequences under supervision.
• Serve as primary contact for substitutes in the absence of the teacher.
• Maintain a neat, organized classroom and confidentiality of student information.
• Follow school and district policies and bus assignments as needed.
