Job summary

Pitt County Schools seeks an Exceptional Children’s Teacher Assistant/Bus Driver at Hope Middle. 10-month position with starting pay of $17.33/hour.

Responsibilities include assisting the teacher with IEP goals, preparing materials, supervising students, and assisting with bus transportation as needed. Qualifications include an Associate's Degree or 2 years of higher education, basic computer skills, and eligibility for a CDL.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 2 years of higher education (minimum 64 semester hours).
• Proficiency with computers and basic software tools.
• Must be eligible for a school bus driver's license (CDL).

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in implementing each child's IEP goals and objectives.
• Assist in planning and preparing the learning environment, centers, and materials.
• Support students with personal care needs and medical procedures as trained.
• Conduct small-group learning activities and development of positive peer relationships.
• Supervise students to ensure safety and report special needs to the teacher.
• Develop materials and lessons to meet instructional objectives and display educational displays.
• Assist with discipline procedures and support behavior reinforcement strategies.
• Serve as a resource for substitutes and help maintain a neat classroom environment.
