Job summary

The Klamath Falls City Schools district seeks a Special Education Paraprofessional at Klamath Union High School to support students in a highly structured classroom. Responsibilities include academic support, ABA-informed strategies, data collection, and assisting with daily living and behavioral goals.

You will work under the teacher's guidance, use augmentative communication tools, participate in training, and help maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment for a diverse student

Qualifications

• AA degree or two years of college or passing paraprofessional exam.
• Ability to organize and communicate effectively.
• Ability to follow directions and learn new procedures.
• Ability to provide care for student’s physical needs.
• Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.
• Complete district required trainings (e.g. de-escalation, understanding IEPs).
• Successful completion of Oregon fingerprinting/criminal history checks.
• Must be 18 years old and hold a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support and individualized therapy aligned with IEP goals.
• Assist in developing positive behavior and implements student behavior protocols.
• Collect detailed behavior and skill data during sessions and log hours.
• Assist in data trend analysis and curriculum modification.
• Participate in trainings related to ABA, STAR curriculum and visual supports.
• Use and maintain adaptive equipment and augmentative devices for students.
• Support toilet training and daily living activities as needed.
• Remain attentive and respond to students’ needs and crises.
• Collaborate with teachers as an effective team member.
