Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington is seeking a Dedicated Aide to provide individualized support to students with disabilities under an IEP. You will work closely with teachers to promote a safe, structured environment and help implement instructional strategies and behavioral plans.

The role involves 1:1 or small-group assistance, supporting transitions, and helping students access instruction.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
One year of experience working with students with disabilities.
Experience with behavior management or crisis intervention is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provides 1:1 or small-group support to assigned student as outlined in the IEP.
Supports transitions and unstructured time as required by IEP needs.
Implements teacher-designed accommodations and modifications to support access to instruction.
Participates in development, revision and implementation of behavior plans with staff.
Utilizes de-escalation strategies to support students in crisis.
Collects and documents IEP-aligned data (academic, behavioral, functional).
Collaborates with the teacher for consistent implementation and communicates with parents.
Supports students in using assistive technology and fades support as appropriate.
Attends staff meetings and may serve on committees as needed.
