ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Adequate basic skills in all core academic areas up to a high school graduate level.
• Implement effective lessonsunder the direction and supervision of a certified teacher.
• Ensure that district policies are observed during all activities.
• Create a safe classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
• Perform duties under the direction of the building principal keeping all children closely supervisedat all times.
• Be familiar with, and able to perform, all emergency procedures.
• Perform office or classroom duties as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality as defined by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
• Demonstrate the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
• Exhibit good judgment and use appropriate languageand behavior.
• Ability to work with students of various abilities and special needs

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

• Abide bystate statutes, school board policies and regulations.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
• Other duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent.
