Job summary

The School District Fremont RE-1 is seeking a full-time paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year at Lincoln School of Science and Technology. Responsibilities

  • Work with multiple grade-level students and handle sensitive material; demonstrate reliability.
  • Present a professional appearance in person and in the work area.
  • Maintain positive relationships with peers, students, parents, and the public.
  • Under supervision, implement schedules and routines; work 1:1, in small groups, or in full-class settings.
  • Complete clerical tasks and support school-wide and classroom management plans.
  • Meet the educational, physical, and emotional needs of assigned students.
  • Use basic technology to communicate and function effectively.
  • May supervise outside in inclement weather.
  • May sub in classrooms when needed.
  • Adhere to district and school staff handbooks.

Job description

Start Date: As mutually agreed for the 2026-2027 School Year

Position Type: Full-time, 163 days

Location: Lincoln School of Science and Technology

Salary: $17.86 - $18.93 per hour (based on experience and education)

Additional Compensation: $2,000 for center-based positions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • Proficiency on paraprofessional assessment; possess an AA Degree, or the equivalent of two years of undergraduate college classes (approximately 48 hours) preferred.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a school atmosphere with staff members, students, and the public.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak to comply with directions and instructions to complete tasks and establish priorities.
  • Experience in Lindamood Bell preferred.
  • MANDT Training to be completed upon hire.
  • Pass pre-employment physical.
  • Must be willing to obtain, if needed, a substitute teaching license (paid for by district).
POSITION DUTIES INCLUDE

  • Complete and perform clerical tasks, and support school-wide and classroom management plans.
  • Meet the educational, physical, and emotional needs of a variety of students assigned.
  • Model the District's Mission and Belief Statements.
  • Possess skills to be able to utilize basic technology as directed by the District to communicate and function effectively.
  • May include outside supervision in inclement weather.
  • Assist with supervisory, clerical, or other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to the district classified handbook and the school staff handbook.
  • May be asked to sub in classrooms when needed.
ADDITIONAL SPECIAL EDUCATION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Confidentiality:
    • Maintain strict confidentiality with all special education student information.
  • Instructional Assistance:
    • Execute instructional programs as directed by special education teachers.
    • Provide 1:1 or small group reinforcement of lessons introduced by teachers.
  • Student Mobility and Health Support:
    • Assist with student mobility, including wheelchair maneuvers and secure transfers.
    • Perform medical tasks such as tube feeding, catheterization, and toileting as needed.
  • Physical and Sensory Support:
    • Prepare and assist students with meals and related tasks to support IEP communication, sensory integration, and physical goals.
