Job summary

Aspire Living & Learning in Stamford, CT is hiring a Special Education Teacher to support a K-12 program with ABA/Direct Instruction. You will manage a caseload up to 10 students, implement academic and behavior programs, and collaborate with a BCBA and instructional staff.

Ideal candidates have CT SE certification, familiarity with ABA methods, and strong communication skills. This on-site role offers comprehensive benefits and a competitive salary range.

Qualifications

• CT certification in special education, DSAP or Long-Term Substitute Eligible.
• Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis/Precision Teaching/Direct Instruction.
• Experience with students with challenging behaviors.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of appropriate referral procedures.
• Ability to remain composed under duress and adhere to best practices.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills; Therap a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of up to 10 students within the classroom.
• Implement academic and behavior programming and oversee each student’s IEP.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to Instructional Assistants and one-on-one ABA Therapists.
• Collaborate with the BCBA and team members to develop and implement student programming.
