Woodland Developmental Center in Marysville, MI is seeking a Special Education Substitute Teacher Aide to assist in classrooms under the supervision of licensed teachers. The role involves supporting students with special education needs, following lesson plans, and helping with personal care tasks as required.

The ideal candidate will be a high school graduate with a strong interest in child development, possess or be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training, and be able to lift and assist

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; interest in child development.
• CPR and first aid training preferred.
• Past work experience with people who are cognitively impaired.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license.
• Ability to lift students and assist wheelchair-bound individuals.

Responsabilités

• Carry out specific behavioral objectives for students.
• Assist in charting, counting and modifying behaviors.
• Assist students in self-help skills: toileting, grooming, eating, and dressing.
• Assist teacher in pre and post testing of individual students.
• Assist in receiving and delivering students to and from buses.
• Attend in-service and staff meetings as requested.
• Assist in developing lesson plans and preparing materials for instructions.
• Follow all rules and regulations identified in the Employee Handbook.
