Auburn City Schools is seeking a Bus Assistant to support the driver in transporting students safely and efficiently during the school year. You will assist with loading/unloading, enforce safety rules, monitor behavior, and help with bus cleanliness and supplies.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, a valid Alabama Class B CDL with passenger endorsement and driver training, plus the ability to meet background and DOT medical requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with handicapped or exceptional children preferred.
• Must pass a background clearance as per Alabama regulations.
• CDL Class B with passenger endorsement and DMV driving record verification.
• Driver’s training completion compliant with state standards.
• Drug screening required by policy.
• Insurability under Auburn City Schools guidelines.

Responsabilités

• Assist with safe loading and unloading of students.
• Enforce school safety rules for students.
• Monitor student behavior and assist as needed.
• Assist driver with keeping bus clean and stocked with supplies.
• Ensure students are secured and seating is appropriate.
• Learn evacuation procedures and assist as necessary.
• Communicate with driver, supervisor, students, and parents with good judgment.
• Follow attendance, punctuality, and dress rules.
