Job summary

King George County Schools Sealston Elementary School in King George, Virginia is seeking a 26-27 SES Paraprofessional to support general and special education students under the supervision of a teacher. This 10-month/185-day position offers opportunities to assist with instructional activities and classroom management.

Qualified candidates will have a HS Diploma or GED and 60 college hours or pass ParaPathways; an Associate’s degree or higher is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED plus 60 college hours or passing the ParaPathways test.
• Associate’s degree or higher preferred for advancement.
• Experience with diverse student populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with instructional activities and classroom management for general and special education students.
• Provides reinforcement and remedial instruction as directed by the teacher.
• Supports individualized education programs in small groups or one-on-one.
• Prepares instructional materials and reports as requested.
• Monitors student engagement and behavior and maintains classroom order.
• Assists with data collection and storage of student work and assessments.
