Job summary

Spotsylvania County Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator (REACH Program) in Fredericksburg, VA. This 10-month contract position supports students with intellectual disabilities with life skills and vocational opportunities, collaborating with teachers and staff.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily work, maintaining a safe and supportive environment, and aiding in assessments and communication using sign language or transliteration as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to successfully complete Basic First Aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with organizing and completing daily work.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing atmosphere and support social skill development.
• Redirect student behavior in small groups according to procedures.
• Organize instructional materials and files.
• Assist with assessments as needed.
• Use sign language or transliteration to facilitate communication.
