Point Quest Group in Kendallville, IN is seeking a Special Education Instructional Assistant to support K-12 students with special needs. You will implement behavior plans, provide one-on-one instructional support, and assist teachers with individualized lessons to promote student growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a school or treatment setting with students needing learning, social, emotional, or behavioral assistance.
• Knowledge of general concepts of child growth and development and child behavior characteristics, general purposes and goals of public education.

Responsibilities

• Instructional Support: Works with small groups of students in an instructional capacity such as assisting students (individually or in groups) with lesson assignments.
• Environment Management: Maintains a safe and positive learning environment.
• Monitoring: Observes students to ensure a safe learning environment.
• Activity Assistance: Supports students during classroom activities (art, literacy, fine motor, bathrooming).
• Clerical Tasks: Records, types, and uses instructional media and office equipment.
• Relationship Building: Builds cooperative relationships with parents, students, and teachers.
