Job summary

San Juan Unified School District invites applications for Part-Time Instructional Assistant I/II/III positions at Pasteur Middle School. The roles support teachers in classrooms serving students including ED/behavioral needs, with a 6-hour day, 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM, five days per week.

Starting rates are on the IA III scale, with a 5% Hard to Staff stipend. Applicants must meet pre-qualification requirements and provide CBEST or proficiency exam results, or transcripts/AA degree as applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience working with Severe/Emotionally Disturbed students or related programs.
• Ability to work with groups of children and with impaired students.
• Coursework in child development is desirable.
• Possession of or ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire if required.

Responsibilities

• Support ED/DT/IEP classrooms with students and activities.
• Assist instructional staff in implementing lesson plans and behavior strategies.
• Contribute to a positive learning environment and safety for students.
