Job summary

Cumberland County Schools in Fayetteville, NC, is seeking a 26/27 EC Assistant - Extended Content Support to support the Exceptional Children's Program at 452 Westarea Elementary. This full-time position requires a minimum of 24 college hours and passing Work Keys assessments, with starting date immediately.

Responsibilities include assisting the teacher with instructional activities, maintaining a safe environment, and supporting students with daily routines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 24 semester hours completed in any discipline with passing Work Keys Assessments.
• Working knowledge of effective methods of dealing with children.
• Ability to solve minor problems and follow detailed written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assists the teacher with planning, organizing, and evaluating instructional activities; developing classroom procedures; preparing necessary materials; and presenting instructional activities as directed by the teacher.
• Participates in activities to improve the total school program.
• Assists the teacher in ensuring a safe and healthful environment.
• Demonstrates clerical and technical skills necessary to assist the implementation of the program.
• Assists students with the understanding of rules and regulations.
• Assists in maintaining cleanliness and neatness.
• Conducts self as a positive role model.
• Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.
• Serves as team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits organizational core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer driven, and valuing fairness.
