Cumberland County Schools is seeking a 26/27 EC Assistant - Extended Content for 404 William H. Owen Elementary in Fayetteville, NC. The position supports the Exceptional Children's Program with classroom-based instructional assistance and safety responsibilities.

The ideal candidate has at least 24 college hours, passing Work Keys, and the ability to work closely with teachers to support students with disabilities. Salary range is posted monthly with a full-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 24 semester hours completed with passing Work Keys Assessments.
• Working knowledge of effective methods of dealing with children.
• Ability to solve minor problems and follow detailed written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assists the teacher with planning, organizing, and evaluating instructional activities; developing classroom procedures; preparing materials; presenting instructional activities as directed by the teacher.
• Participates in activities to improve the total school program.
• Assists the teacher in ensuring a safe and healthful environment.
• Demonstrates clerical and technical skills necessary to assist the implementation of the program.
• Assists students with understanding of rules and regulations.
• Maintains cleanliness and neatness in the classroom.
• Acts as a positive role model and team player for staff.
