Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Plano, TX, is seeking a Special Credits Director within the Special Credits Group to manage a portfolio of stressed and distressed borrowers, focusing on risk management and maximizing recovery through early intervention and financial restructuring.

You will partner with management, syndicate lenders, financial advisors and external counsel to develop and execute solutions that preserve key client relationships, support restructurings, and strengthen the firm’s credit

Qualifications

• 7 years of experience in Corporate Credit Risk Management and/or Leveraged Finance.
• Restructuring experience or leveraged finance structuring experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform under pressure in a demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with company management, syndicate lenders, financial advisors, and external counsel to develop and execute solutions that optimize repayment and recovery while preserving important client relationships.
• Support internal transaction teams on amendments, waivers, and restructurings involving complex legal, financial, reputational, and cross-jurisdictional considerations; coordinate with Payments and Operations partners to mitigate settlement and payment risk.
• Contribute to credit decisioning in active stressed/distressed situations, including advisory and managed engagements.
• Prepare quarterly credit surveillance updates, and support accounting and regulatory reporting for portfolio exposures.
• Develop exposure management strategies, evaluate loan sale opportunities, prepare valuations for securities and other instruments received through restructurings, and recommend trading/disposition strategies.

As a Special Credits Director within the Special Credits Group (SCG), you will manage a portfolio of stressed and distressed borrowers, with a focus on risk management and maximizing recovery of the firm’s credit exposure through early intervention and financial restructuring.
