Job summary

Northrim Bank in Anchorage, Alaska is seeking a motivated Special Credits Associate/Officer to protect assets and work with delinquent loan relationships. The role involves evaluating repayment options, analyzing financial information, and developing recovery strategies across borrowers, lenders, and attorneys.

The position supports the Credit Administration team and offers opportunities for growth within associate or officer levels based on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in loan collections, special assets, commercial credit, consumer credit, loan workouts, credit analysis, or related financial services functions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to evaluate financial information and make sound recommendations.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management abilities.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of delinquent or problem loan relationships.
• Contact borrowers and guarantors to discuss repayment solutions and recovery strategies.
• Analyze financial statements, tax returns, collateral values, cash flow, and repayment capacity.
• Monitor loan performance and identify opportunities to reduce credit risk.
• Negotiate payment arrangements, settlements, restructures, and recovery solutions within delegated authority.
• Coordinate collateral recovery, liquidation, bankruptcy matters, and legal proceedings as appropriate.
• Prepare reports, account analyses, and recommendations for management.
• Partner with attorneys, government agencies, vendors, and internal partners to achieve collection objectives.
• Ensure compliance with Bank policies, regulatory requirements, and consumer protection standards.
