The Golda Meir Library at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee seeks a Special Collections Librarian to develop rare books and special printed materials to support research.

Reporting to the Head of Archives and Special Collections, the librarian will deliver high-impact instruction to undergraduate and graduate students, provide reference services, and promote the collections through exhibits and public programs.

Formación

• MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited institution.
• Evidence of coursework or training/professional development in rare books and special collections.

Responsabilidades

• Develops, curates, and manages rare book and special printed materials collections.
• Designs, develops, delivers, and assesses instruction for faculty, staff, students, and patrons.
• Cultivates and maintains relationships with donors, collectors, vendors, and colleagues.
• Serves as a liaison to academic disciplines and campus units for information on collections and services.
• Promotes collections and services through exhibits, presentations, and public programs.
• Provides reference and research assistance as part of a professional team.
• Participates in supervision of the reading room and service point.
• Supervises interns and fieldworkers.
• Designs and develops projects, programs, procedures, and services.
• Resolves complex issues impacting unit policies.
• Collaborates with other library departments.
• Serves on committees to advance librarianship.
