Job summary

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee seeks a Special Collections Librarian to manage rare books and special printed materials, supporting research for faculty and students. Reporting to the Head of Archives and Special Collections, you will collaborate with librarians and staff across the library and campus. MLS/MLIS and experience in special collections are required.

Qualifications

• MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited institution.
• Formal coursework or training in rare books and special collections.

Responsibilities

• Develops and manages rare book and special printed materials collections.
• Designs and delivers instruction to faculty, staff, students, and other patrons.
• Collaborates with donors, collectors, vendors, and colleagues.
• Provides reference and research assistance as part of a professional team.
• Promotes collections through exhibits, public programs and outreach.
