Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University Libraries’ Eberly Family Special Collections Library seeks a Special Collections Instruction & Program Coordinator to connect students, faculty, researchers, and the community with rare books, archives, and other distinctive collections.

The Coordinator will lead instructional visits, coordinate spaces and logistics, and collaborate with curators, archivists, and librarians to support learning goals.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating projects, programs, or services in a library, archives, museum, or higher education environment.
• Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication across diverse audiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team while exercising judgment and initiative.
• Experience collecting or reporting data to support assessment or planning.
• Proficiency with common office productivity software and collaboration tools.
• Ability to learn and use new technologies and systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all Special Collections instruction and educational visit requests from inquiry to completion.
• Serve as primary contact for faculty, instructors, and campus/community groups requesting instructional sessions, tours, and visits.
• Manage scheduling, spaces, collection availability, and related logistics for learning experiences.
• Collaborate with Research Services, curators, archivists, and librarians to align learning experiences with course objectives.
• Provide operational support for instruction sessions and visits, including space, tech, and materials coordination.
• Maintain calendars, workflows, procedures, and documentation for consistent service delivery.
