Job summary

The University of Oklahoma's University Libraries Special Research Collections seeks an Archivist to manage processing, accessions, arrangement, housing, and description of archival materials. You will create finding aids, organize storage, and support daily circulation activities while guiding student staff.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 36 months of related archival experience, with a preference for a Master's in library/archives. Background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of archival organization and preservation practices.
• Familiarity with metadata schemas (DACS, EAD).
• Ability to manage workflows to complete projects.
• Ability to work with colleagues with tact and credibility.

Responsibilities

• Process and describe archival collections per professional standards.
• Create and edit finding aids in ArchivesSpace.
• Organize collections in Library Service Center and manage shelf data.
• Assist with stacks management and relocation for storage efficiency.
• Train and supervise student assistants and temporary staff.
