Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Medical Technologist/MLT/Lab Technician - Special Chemistry to join the Main Campus Laboratory. You will perform and interpret tests, maintain quality control, and support patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution
• Meets the CLIA qualifications for high complexity testing personnel grandfathering clause
• Diploma and/or transcripts must be provided
• Education outside of the United States requires translation of diploma/transcripts and foreign equivalency proof

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results
• Maintain regulatory knowledge and awareness as it pertains to specific job duties
• Adhere to quality control policies, document QC activities, and calibrations
• Perform proficiency testing in compliance with CLIA regulations and document results
• Participate in continuing education, professional development and annual competency assessments
• Identify problems affecting test performance and take corrective action or escalate
• Possibly provide instruction and training to students and staff
