Job summary

Westside Community Schools in Omaha, NE is seeking a Special Assign. Engineer-Maintenance, Cat 4A. This full-time, year-round position requires shift Mon–Fri 6:30 AM–3:00 PM and reports to the Director of Facilities.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, City of Omaha 3rd Grade Engineer’s License, and extensive experience with building systems, EMS, boilers, chillers, and heat pumps. The role involves physical tasks and working with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• City of Omaha 3rd Grade Engineer’s License required.
• Ability to climb ladders up to 30 feet+.
• Ability to lift 70 lbs over distance up to 50 feet.
• Universal A/C certificate required.
• Five years building maintenance experience.
• Five years heat pump operation/repair experience.
• Ability to repair/maintain building systems and operate EMS.

Responsibilities

• Security of the building: locking/unlocking, arming/disarming access controls.
• Operate and repair mechanical systems incl. boilers, chillers, A/C units, pumps, piping, lighting, plumbing.
• Energy management system (EMS) operation and programming.
• Setup/takedown for school activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of assigned areas.
• Snow removal as needed.
• All other duties as assigned.
