Job summary

Washington State Department of Corrections is recruiting for a Community Corrections Officer 2 (CCO2) in Tacoma. The role supervises sex offenders and manages a caseload within the Special Assault Unit North Office, with an in-training plan and day shifts from 0800 to 1700, Monday through Friday.

As a CCO2 (or CCO1 in-training), you will collaborate with internal and external partners, enforce conditions, document cases, and support safe reentry into the community.

Qualifications

• Must have the ability to carry and properly utilize a department-issued firearm.
• Must possess and maintain an unrestricted vehicle operator's license valid in the state of Washington.
• Must work with individuals with criminal backgrounds and anti-social behaviors; review graphic materials; and remain objective.
• Combination options: HS diploma + 4 years, Associate + 2 years, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Level 1, 2, and 3 sex offenders under supervision.
• Administer assessments and manage case files.
• Engage with supervised individuals and community members to promote positive change.
• Enforce supervision conditions and prepare court documentation.
