Job summary

Texarkana ISD seeks a Spanish Teacher for Texarkana High School to deliver engaging language instruction and help students grow academically and personally.

Starting date is immediate; the role is full-time and focuses on developing communicative Spanish proficiency in alignment with the district curriculum. A Texas teaching certificate and a bachelor’s degree are required; CPR/first aid may be needed in some programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject/grade level assigned
• Meet No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Highly Qualified Teacher requirements for subject/grade level assigned
• CPR, first aid and AED certification may be required (ex. PE, Marching Band)
• Knowledge of subjects assigned
• General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
• Bachelor degree preferred.
