Job summary

Novastar Kids Co. is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Spanish Substitute Teacher to provide ongoing Spanish language classroom coverage on Mondays and Thursdays, approximately 6 hours per day.

The ideal candidate is passionate about language learning, enjoys working with children, and can create a positive and engaging classroom environment by following established lesson plans and curriculum. Strong communication, classroom management, and the ability to adapt to student needs are valued,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework or degree in education, Spanish, world languages, or related field preferred.
• Strong Spanish language proficiency or fluency preferred.
• Previous experience with children or in an educational setting preferred.
• Ability to follow lesson plans and adapt to students’ needs.
• Commitment to maintaining student confidentiality and meeting employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide Spanish language instruction according to lesson plans and curriculum.
• Support students in developing speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
• Reinforce vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and cultural understanding.
• Create an engaging, supportive, and age-appropriate learning environment.
• Encourage active participation and confidence in Spanish.
• Maintain positive classroom management and student engagement.
• Take attendance and maintain classroom records as required.
• Assist with transitions, lunch, recess, arrival, and dismissal as assigned.
• Communicate student or classroom concerns to school administration.
• Maintain classroom organization and prepare for the regular teacher’s return.
