Job summary

Houston ISD is seeking a Communications Coordinator 2 fluent in Spanish to support the district's communications and HISD Press Office. The ideal candidate will manage writing, media relations, and on-camera interviews, serving as a spokesperson in high-profile, sensitive or rapidly evolving situations.

You will develop and implement strategic communication plans, coordinate press initiatives, and help ensure district goals are advanced through clear, timely messaging.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications or related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in a communications role; education sector experience preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish.
• Excellent writing and media relations skills.
• Experience managing social media and serving as a spokesperson.

Responsibilities

• Support departmental goals and develop communication strategies.
• Coordinate the efficient execution of press-related communications and initiatives.
