Political Asylum Lawyers in Houston seeks a Spanish-speaking Representation Staff Attorney to advocate in Immigration Court and asylum interviews. You will work from home but reside within an hour of Orlando, Dallas, or Houston, appearing regularly in court and at USCIS.

This hands-on role focuses on client preparation and courtroom advocacy rather than drafting, with AI tools and structured workflows to help build strong cases.

Qualifications

• Admitted to a U.S. state bar in good standing
• Experience representing clients in Immigration Court and asylum interviews preferred
• Spanish-language fluency required for effective client communication
• Ability to prepare clients to testify and represent them under pressure
• Willingness to travel nationwide for court appearances

Responsibilities

• Represent clients as counsel in Immigration Court – Master Calendar and Individual Hearings, and in asylum interviews before USCIS
• Prepare clients to testify and ensure readiness for procedural and factual issues
• Build rapport with clients and manage testimonies, considering trauma-informed approaches
• Develop case strategy for hearings and interviews to position clients for the best outcomes
• Collaborate with legal teams to move cases efficiently within established workflows
• Leverage AI tools to prepare effectively while maintaining professional judgment
• Travel to Immigration Courts and USCIS offices nationwide, up to two trips per month
